Polder Pikes – The Netherlands

Technique

Fishing for pike is mostly practised from the banks of the canals, we usually use a 8-weight flyfishing rod or a casting rod (10-25gr). Searching for pike should be done in a careful and thorough way. Casting is done to the opposite bank of the canal, to a distance rarely exceeding 15m. Dutch canals are filled with fish, especially pikes, and you can reasonably expect lots of strikes. Not to be missed!
